Frequently Asked Questions

1) My application form for Team categories has already been approved via the confirmation email. Will I still be allowed to change any members on event day?

Unfortunately, no changes to team members are allowed once application has been approved.


2) What do I need to do after receiving the confirmation email?

Do await another email pertaining to your reporting time. It will be sent out 1 week before the event.


3) Am I allowed to participate in more than 1 category? Do I get two goodie-bags if I join 2 categories?

You are allowed to join more than 1 category. Unfortunately, you are only entitled to 1 goodie bag regardless of the number of categories you join.


4) When is the last day of registration?

Registration closes on 12th April 2010. It is advisable to sign up early as the slots available for the event are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.


5) Can a team comprise of 4 males and 1 female?

To be fair to other participants, such a combination would not be allowed. Each team must comprise of at least 2 males and 2 females.


6) What should I do if I lose my number tag after registration?

Please proceed to the Help Desk (just beside the Registration Booths) to report your lost number tag. A $5 administrative fee will be charged and a new number tag will be issued to you.


7) Can I sign up on the event day at the registration booth?


Unfortunately, all participants would have to send in their registration form before 12th April 2010. Only approved applicants are allowed to participate in the marathon.


8) How do I know if a category is closed?

There would be a "CLOSED" sign on the Categories page if a particular category is full before the closing of registration.


9) Will there be enough time for me to warm-up before my race?

An estimated time of one hour is set aside for participants to deposit their belongings at the baggage counter, and do sufficient warming-up exercises.


10) If one of my team member fails to turn up on the event day, will the rest of the team still be allowed to compete?

Yes, your team will still be allowed to complete the marathon but the team will not be ranked.


11) Will I get to know my individual/team timing?

Yes, of course! Results of individual/team timing will be announced on our website 2 weeks after the event.


12) Is the Corporate Challenge a relay or consolidation of individual timings?

It is a relay. A total of 63 storeys are to be completed by the Team. The breakdown of the number of storeys each participant has to climb will be released on a later date.

13) When is goodie bag collection?

Goodie bag collection will be on the event day itself. You will receive your goodie bag, event tee, race tag and medals all on the event day itself.

14) How do I know what time to report on event day?

1 week before the event, we will be sending out a reminder email, in which there will be event details and the reporting times. The detail list and reporting times will all be made available on our website, so keep a look out for it.

15) What do I need to bring on event day?

Bring down a form of identification as well as a proof of registration or payment. This can include your confirmation slip or your payment receipt.

16) Will I be allowed to bring my own camera up to the rooftop?

Unfortunately, you will not be allowed to bring cameras or take photos on the rooftop, as doing so would infringe OUBC's media rights.
