National Vertical Marathon 2010

The National Vertical Marathon (NVM) is an alternative sporting event to flat road marathons, as well as a fitting sport that takes advantage of the many skyscrapers in Singapore.

Given its unique nature, NVM has attracted remarkable response over the past 16 years since its inception in NTU Sports Club in 1994. It has even generated a loyal following of running enthusiasts.

NVM 2010 is proudly organised by the 16th NVM Organising Comittee. We seek to bring the simple sport of stair-climbing to every sportsman and non-sportsman. On top of that, we aim to bring greater focus to the corporate category. Like always, we also hope to reach out to the mass public and the various institutions.

NTU Sports Club was officially launched in the Year 1991 with the aim of promoting all kinds of sports activities in NTU. Sports Club is under the umbrella of the Students' Union as a non-academic constituent club, together with other academic clubs belonging to the various schools (e.g. Accountancy and Business Club, Electrical and Electronic Engineering Club) and 2 other non-academic constituent clubs (Welfare Services Club and Cultural Activities Club). The Sports Club's management committee is into its 19th year running for 2009/2010.

Sports Club is feverish about promoting all sorts of sporty activities. Our people are all active, fun-loving and ambitious (but also responsible!), organising several events during the year, both big and small. Sports Club strives to be professional when it comes to executing our events. You might even have joined us before at our Surf n Sweat or our National Vertical Marathon.

Sports Club, together with our 21 sub clubs, organises a wide range of activities that enriches the stay of students in NTU. With the wide variety of activities being offered, there's bound to be something for everybody's need.
